2023 Annual Fundraiser
Support Black and Latino boys to achieve their full potential.
A. Bright Future experienced amazing growth in 2022 (click here to read our 2022 Annual Report)! We are excited about what we’ve accomplished with the help of our many supporters and friends. We doubled the amount of boys we financially support in all tennis activities, had our first ABF participant compete in the New England Sectionals, engaged a motivated group of mentors, and increased our events, which further established the fraternity amongst the boys.
The brotherhood that is forming among our first cohort is truly amazing and the camaraderie is already helping them feel less isolated and more supported on and off the court. Perhaps our most proud achievement of the year, ABF piloted its educational component this fall! "Introspections" is a 16-hour cultural and identity training, where participants increase self-awareness and begin to find their voices through public speaking.
In 2023 our goals are to:
Sponsor 12+ students in their dream to play competitive tennis in New England, eventually to play in college or on tour!
Send our students to 40+ regional and national tournaments to increase their exposure to top talent and continue to build a strong bond amongst each other.
Expand our reach with recruitment through partnerships with community organizations such as Sportsmen's Tennis Club and the Boy's and Girls Clubs of Boston.
Recruit 35 youth to participate in Introspections. Add financial literacy workshops to our education component, which aim to build knowledge, skills, and confidence for young people to make good money decisions. Two areas -cultural identity and financial literacy- fill gaps that black and brown youth won't get in other educational settings.
Raise $200,000 to support this effort. Every penny counts!
